Lok Adalat

In order to provide free and competent legal services to the weaker sections of the society and to organize Lok Adalats and legal literacy camps to secure that the operation of legal system promotes justice on the basis of equal opportunities as enumerated in Article 39 of the Constitution of India, the State Government in Legal Department has constituted the State Legal Services Authority under the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987. The said Authority consisting of the Chief Justice of the High Court as the Patron-in-Chief and the Executive Chairman and other Members has done commendable work in furtherance of the noble cause. The Government keeping in mind the concept of Justice at the door-step has provided the Authority a Mobile Van, which moves all over Gujarat in the interior villages for providing legal and to the people and resolving their disputes amicably. The Authority has also opened a unique clinic legal service clinic, which remains open for twenty-four hours for rendering legal assistance to the general public.
